Biden-Trump CNN Presidential Debate Watched by More Than 51 Million Viewers
The debate was broadcast live on multiple platforms, including CNN, Max, CNN International, and CNN en Español.

Biden-Trump CNN Presidential Debate is reported to have been watched by more than 51 million viewers.
The first 2024 presidential debate between President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump took place on June 27, 2024, hosted by CNN at their Atlanta studios.
This debate, moderated by CNN’s Jake Tapper and Dana Bash, was notable for its absence of a live audience, which meant no live reactions or audience questions during the event.
The decision to hold these debates outside of the traditional Commission on Presidential Debates (CPD) framework was due to both Biden and Trump declining to participate in the CPD’s proposed schedule. Instead, they agreed to two alternative debates—one hosted by CNN in June and another by ABC News scheduled for September 10, 2024.
The debate was broadcast live on multiple platforms, including CNN, Max, CNN International, and CNN en Español.
Additionally, it was simulcast on other networks such as MSNBC and ABC News, providing extensive pre- and post-debate coverage and analysis.
Nielsen released an update according to which, the average audience of the Biden-Trump presidential debate has climbed to 51.3 million viewers, across 17 networks.
Networks include CNN, which originated the debate, as well as ABC, CBS, FOX, NBC, Scripps News, Telemundo, Univision, BET, CNN en Español, HLN, Fox Business, Fox News Channel, MSNBC, Newsmax, NewsNation and PBS. Audience estimates include out-of-home viewing for all networks except Newsmax, NewsNation, PBS and Scripps News.
