British Airways resumes its flight operation to Pakistan, ten years after suspending it over security concerns.
British Airways first flight has taken off from Heathrow Airport, London for Islamabad.
On Sunday, a video message was shared by the British High Commissioner to Islamabad Thomas Drew on Twitter, calling it a big day for UK and Pakistan.
Mr. Thomas Drew captioned his video message saying: A big day for the UK and Pakistan. British Airways first flight on its new direct service to Islamabad takes off from London Heathrow this afternoon. It can look forward to a warm welcome when it lands here tomorrow.
In a video message, Thomas Drew said “this flight is the symbol of extraordinary links between our two countries.
“I see this new service is a vote of confidence in the future of these links,” he said also adding that it would give a particular boost to trade and investment.
“And it is, of course, a tribute to great improvement in the security situation in Pakistan in recent years,” the high commissioner further added.
The United Kingdom’s flag carrier will resume with three flights each week between the two countries’ capitals, London and Islamabad.
