Bunker Demolition Begins in Kurram as Part of Peace Agreement
As reported, the initial demolitions took place in Lower Kurram, specifically targeting bunkers in Khar Kili and Balish Khel.

Demolition of bunkers in Kurram district has officially commenced as part of a peace agreement aimed at restoring stability in the region.
This operation, initiated by security forces and the district administration, began on January 13, 2025, intending to dismantle all bunkers by February 1, 2025.
The decision to dismantle the bunkers follows a series of violent tribal clashes that have resulted in significant casualties and disruptions, including the deaths of at least 130 individuals since last month. The conflicts escalated after an attack on a convoy that killed 43 people.
The Kurram Peace Agreement outlines this demolition as a crucial step towards achieving sustainable peace in the area.
As reported, the initial demolitions took place in Lower Kurram, specifically targeting bunkers in Khar Kili and Balish Khel.
As of now, two bunkers have already been destroyed using explosives.
Gunship helicopters have been deployed to monitor the area during the demolition operations, ensuring security amidst ongoing tensions.
A second convoy of 45 cargo vehicles departed from Tal Cantonment on Tuesday, carrying essential goods for Kurram district, the district administration said.
As reported, these vehicles are carrying essential goods, including flour, ghee, sugar, and medicines, to various areas of the Kurram district, including Parachinar, Boshehra, Alizai, and other affected regions.
The supply of medicines and essential goods to the affected areas is expected to alleviate shortages to some extent, according to the district administration.
