Bushra Bibi’s non-bailable arrest warrants issued in £190m case
Lawyer sought exemption for Bushra from today's proceeding on a medical basis.
An accountability court in Rawalpindi has issued non-bailable arrest warrants for Bushra Bibi, the wife of Imran Khan, in connection with the £190 million settlement case, also known as the Al-Qadir Trust case.
Judge Nasir Javed Rana made this decision on November 22, 2024, due to Bushra Bibi’s continued absence from court proceedings, having missed at least eight hearings.
The court has ordered that Bushra Bibi be arrested and presented before the court on November 26.
During the recent hearing, her legal team requested an exemption based on medical grounds, citing a report from a hospital in Peshawar. However, objections were raised regarding the validity of these medical documents, as they were notarized in Islamabad.
During the hearing, the PTI founder — who is currently incarcerated in Adiala prison — was also presented before the court.
