The major border crossing between Afghanistan and Pakistan has been closed for trade and transit after attack on Pakistani security troops

Chaman border remains closed for the fifth straight day, on Thursday.

The Pak-Afghan border crossing at Chaman also known as the Friendship Gate was closed on Sunday after unidentified armed men opened fire on the Pakistani security troops from inside Afghanistan.

The incident left a Frontier Corps soldier embracing martyrdom and two more sustaining injuries

The development has left all the business and trade activities at the Chaman border suspended.

Chaman’s deputy commissioner said that the federal government will take a decision about the opening of the Friendship Gate.

He added that Islamabad and Kabul are in contact with each other on the matter.
