CM Murad Ali Shah announces holiday in Sindh on Friday after torrential rains

Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah has announced a holiday in the province on Friday after monsoon heavy rains lash out several cities of the province including Karachi.

A statement issued from the CM House on Thursday says all the government and semi-government departments and private organisations would remain closed tomorrow.

However, departments providing essential services including local bodies, health, water board, Provincial Disaster Management Authority, and revenue would continue to serve the people.

Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah says that the situation in Karachi is grave and said some cities would be declared calamity-hit after receiving reports from the concerned officials.

Speaking in the Geo News programme “Capital Talk”,  CM Sindh Shah said the situation in any city would be the same as in Karachi after such heavy rains.

The CM also said the concerned officials have been directed to survey the affected areas after which the decision would be taken to declare some cities as calamity-hit.
