CM Sindh’s brother in law has been tested positive for coronavirus.

As being reported, a close relative of CM Sindh Mehdi Shah has become a victim of the coronavirus; he recently traveled to Iran and had come back from Syria some days ago.

It was a day ago when 8 new positive cases were confirmed in Karachi.  Coronavirus positive cases tally in Pakistan as jumped to 16 cases.

As being reported, five people infected with the coronavirus arrived in Pakistan from Doha via Syria. Three patients reportedly arrived in Karachi from London via Dubai.

Karachi has been the worst affected city so far, with 13 of the total confirmed cases.

In the wake of recent developments, the Sindh health department has taken emergency measures after nine new coronavirus cases were reported from Karachi, taking the total number of cases in the province to 13.

An emergency meeting was held on Tuesday,  at which Sindh’s Minister of Health and Population Welfare Dr. Azra Pechuho said the department will be setting up a health desk and conducting screening at the Karachi Airport. All people coming to Karachi will be screened.

A hospital in Gadap has been made fully operational and it will treat those affected with the coronavirus, the spokesperson added.

Similarly, all private and public hospitals will be setting up a frontline desk for information on the novel coronavirus.

An advisory will be issued to the public to avoid public gatherings and self-quarantine for 14 days if they have travelled from a country with positive cases.

A recommendation to shut schools in the province for a longer period has been sent to Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah.

A recommendation to cancel events like the PSL will also be forwarded to the government, the spokesperson affirmed.
