CNG stations in Sindh remain close throughout winter, SSG

Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) on Thursday announced that CNG stations will remain closed throughout winter across Sindh province.

According to the details, for the first time in Sindh, CNG will not be available during this winter.

A plan has been put in place to close all CNG stations beginning October 15, said officials.

“Only those pumps supplying LNG will remain open,” the statement said.

The officials further told that the CNG pumps will resume operations after four months, in February 2021.

According to the sources, approximately 108 out of 700 pumps have been shifted to LNG.

“Pumps are now being shifted to LNG, rather than locally available gas supplies,” said pump owners.

“Sindh, a province which was self-reliant in gas, will now be operating pumps on imported LNG,” remarked experts reacting to the development.

Earlier, the CNG stations across Sindh were closed for two days due to the suspension of supplies on September 27.
