Commissioner Karachi has made helmets mandatory for cyclists

Commissioner Karachi Iftikhar Ali Shallwani has issued standard operating procedures (SOPs) for bicycle riders of the metropolis.

From now on wearing a helmet while riding a bicycle has been made compulsory.

The SOPs further direct the riders to maintain social distancing among other listed precautions.

“violation of the SOPs will make riders liable to prosecution under the relevant traffic laws”, says the official notification.
