“Congratulations Everyone On This New India”, Anurag Kashyap deletes his twitter account

Bollywood filmmaker Anurag Kashyap has deleted his Twitter account after getting threats online.

Before deleting his account, in his last tweets, Kashyap lamented he wasn’t allowed to speak of his mind without fear.

The screenshots of his deleted tweets are still available on the internet.

“When your parents start to get calls and your daughter gets online threats you know that no one wants to talk. There isn’t going to be reason or rationale. Thugs will rule and thuggery will be the new way of life. Congratulations everyone on this new India & hope you all thrive”, Kashyap tweeted.

“Wish you all the happiness and success. This would be my last tweet as I leave Twitter. When I won’t be allowed to speak my mind without fear than I would rather not speak at all. Goodbye”, he said.

Bollywood filmmaker Anurag Kashyap had hit out at the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the decision to scrap Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir, last week.

Gangs of Wasseypur director has been vocal about many social and political issues related to India and kept sharing his views on social media, however, the world’s largest democracy does not have a big heart to allow the freedom of speech.
