Corona cases continue to rise in Karachi, positivity ratio surge to 13%


The rate of positive cases of coronavirus in Karachi is around 13%.

Despite the restrictions, the spread of the virus could not be controlled in the metropolis.

In the last 24 hours in Sindh, the rate of positive cases of coronavirus was recorded at 6.2% and 925 new cases and 16 COVID-19 related deaths were reported.

According to the spokesperson of the Sindh Health Department, 14,937 tests for coronavirus were conducted in the last 24 hours in the province as a result of which 925 new cases were reported.

According to statistics, in the last 24 hours, the rate of positive cases in Karachi was recorded at around 13%.

During this time, 4,154 tests in the city revealed 529 patients contracted coronavirus.

After Karachi, Hyderabad is the worst affected city in the province.

In the last 24 hours, the rate of positive corona cases in Hyderabad was recorded as 9.23%.
 
Traders, on the other hand, refused to comply with the provincial government’s orders and announced that the shops would be open till 8 pm instead of 6 pm from today.
 
Karachiits continue to flout COVID SOPs and the traders have also threatened to take to the streets in the event of government action.
The Tajir Action Committee in Karachi announced on Friday that the shops will remain open till 8 pm starting from Saturday,  in violation of the 6 pm shut down time outlined by the Sindh government.
