Coronavirus Claims 63 More Lives in Pakistan In A Day

Coronavirus has claimed 63 more lives in Pakistan in the past 24 hours, while 1,519 persons tested positive for COVID-19.

According to the latest figures by the National Command and Operation Center (NCOC), the nationwide tally of fatalities has jumped to 13,076 on Thursday.

While the total number of positive cases has surged to 585,435.

According to NCOC, as many as 987 patients have recovered from the virus in a day in Pakistan and 1,559 patients are still in critical condition while the total count of active cases is 17,117.

On the other hand, Gilgit Baltistan reported its first COVID-19 case on Thursday, after a month of being coronavirus-free.

Punjab reported 796 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours, marking the second straight day the province recorded more than 700 cases. The provincial tally now stands at 174,191.

Punjab also recorded 39 more deaths from the novel coronavirus, taking the fatality toll to 5,480.

The federal Islamabad has reported 231 cases and 2 deaths.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa reported 206 more infections and five more fatalities.

Meanwhile, Balochistan has reported eight more cases, taking its total to 19,084.

The was no death reported in the province for the past 6 days.

On the other hand, PSL6 has been postponed after 7 players from the league tested positive for COVID-19.
