Coronavirus death: Health worker Malik Ashdar laid to rest in Gilgit Baltistan

Health worker Malik Ashdar was laid the rest in Nagar district of Gilgit Baltistan, another Covid-19 front line fighter after Dr. Usama Riaz.

 

55-year-old Malik Ashdar was looking after suspected and confirmed coronavirus patients in Nagar, the most hardest-hit district of Gilgit Baltistan.

 

Malik Ashdar succumbed to the disease due to the non-availability of protective gear during his duty. He was quarantined over a week, however, his positive test report was issued after his death.

According to the Information Department Gilgit-Baltistan, with 6 new cases confirmed positive on Monday, the region’s tally of Covid-19 cases surge to 142.
