Sana Yousaf Murder Case: Court Grants Four-Day Physical Remand to Accused
Sana Yousaf, the 17-year-old TikTok star, was shot dead at her home in Islamabad on Monday, June 2
District and Sessions Court in Islamabad granted a four-day physical remand to Umar Hayat, the main accused in the murder case of TikTok star Sana Yousaf.
During the court proceedings on Monday, June 16, Sana Yousaf’s mother and paternal aunt identified Umar Hayat as the perpetrator in an official identification parade. The police had initially requested a seven-day remand to recover the mobile phone and vehicle allegedly used in the crime, but the court approved only four days.
The court also ordered a medical examination of the accused, who himself requested the examination and stated that he had already handed over his mobile phone to the authorities.
The suspect is to be presented again in court on June 20, 2025, with updates on the investigation and the medical report.

Umar Hayat, a 22-year-old from Faisalabad, was arrested within 20 hours of the incident. Both the firearm used in the murder and the victim’s mobile phone have been recovered by the police.
The case has drawn widespread public attention, sparking discussions about the safety of women, especially those active on social media, and calls for justice across Pakistan.
