Court orders Meesha Shafi to submit reply by Sept 25 in the defamation suit filed by Ali Zafar!

Actor-singer Meesha Shafi has been ordered by the District-session court to submit her reply in the defamation suit which was filed by Ali Zafar. It is being reported that the judge adjourned the hearing till 25th September, giving more time to the defendant. Meesha Shafi’s counsel has been reported to submitted the power of attorney before the court and sought further adjournment of proceedings in order to have a chance to properly read the plea.
Harassment charges were levelled against Ali Zafar by Meesha Shafi. She took the issue to social media some while ago, which were categorically denied by Ali Zafar and sent a legal notice to Shafi, stating that her tweets from April 19, 2018, were slanderous and defamatory.

The counsel for Zafar told the court, in earlier proceedings, that singer-actor Meesha Shafi has defamed his client through baseless allegations. He asked that the defendant to be ordered to apologize to his client and that a fine of Rs1 billion be imposed on her for leveling baseless allegations.
