Donald Trump heavily trolled on social media for bizarre pronunciation of Tendulkar, Kohli’s names
Donald Trump’s pronunciation of two Indian cricket stars’ names has prompted ridicule on social media. The international cricket governing body ICC on Monday trolled US President’s pronunciation of former India cricketer Sachin Tendulkar’s name.
Trump was speaking at a rally in Ahmedabad during his two-day visit to India. In his speech, Trump told the crowd that Kohli and Sachin were some of the “greatest players in the world”.
“This is the country where your people cheer on the biggest cricketers, from Sachin Tendulkar to Virat Kohli, the greatest in the world”.
The official Twitter ICC posted a video in which Sachin’s name can be seen replacing by Soo-chin Tendulkar in the official record book.
The ICC captioned the video post, “Sach-Such-Satch-Sutch-Sooch-Anyone know?”

The way Trump pronounced Sachin and Virat, generated a hilarious reaction on social media.
Something about Donald Trump's pronunciation of Sachin Tendulkar tells me he isn't a huge cricket fan pic.twitter.com/stFhq46MLx

Soo Chin and Ko Lee telephoned me after the speech.
They said Sir, that was the perfect pronunciation of our names.
Everyone has been doing it wrong for years, especially Obama.
They were in tears on the telephone.

Something about his pronunciation suggests he thinks he's in China and not India… #SooChin
