Minutes before filing this story, Donald Trump — the first former president in US history to face criminal charges — entered a New York courtroom to be arraigned.
Trump posted on social media: “Heading to Lower Manhattan, the Courthouse. Seems so SURREAL – WOW, they are going to ARREST ME. Can’t believe this is happening in America.”
Wearing a dark blue suit and red tie, Trump, 76, left Trump Tower on Tuesday and travelled to the Manhattan district attorney’s office where he surrendered to face dozens of felony charges for his role in the payment of hush money to a porn star days before the 2016 presidential election.
