Drug Regulatory Authority Raids Stores Selling Overpriced Masks

Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan (DRAP) has initiated a crackdown on all major pharma stores in the country that were involved in selling overpriced surgical masks and other protective gear against Coronavirus.

As per the spokesperson of the Ministry of Health, stock from at least five stores in Islamabad, Karachi, Lahore, and other major cities has been confiscated by DRAP due to huge profit margins put up the store owners.

“We are staying vigilant and monitoring any such illegal activities. If you hear of any other stores doing the same let us know and we will deal with them according to the law,” Chief of DRAP, Asim Rauf was quoted by Samaa News.

The chief added that all those who are cashing in on the Coronavirus outbreak and making profits through surgical face masks, protective suits and other gear will be taken in. Earlier a small scale crackdown was conducted in Lahore and Karachi for the same reasons.
