Earthquake tremors jolted Chitral and areas on KPK in the early hours of morning on Monday, 20th May 2019. The tremors were recorded at 4.2 at the Richter Scale with the epicenter of the quake located deep in the Hindu Kush range near the Afghanistan-Tajikistan border.
Although no causalities were reported, it is being said that minor damage to the properties did occur.
Last year in April a 5.6-magnitude earthquake jolted K-P with tremors felt in Chitral, Batkhela, Bunir, Swat, Shangla, Malakand, Dir and Swabi districts. However, earlier, in January 2018, earthquake tremors in various parts of Pakistan killed at least two people and injured several others measuring 4.9 on the Richter scale.
