Shawwal moon sighted, Eid-ur-Fitr to be celebrated in Pakistan on Wednesday

Moon for Shawwal-ul-Mukarram has been sighted and Eid-ul-Fitr will be observed on 5th March, Wednesday tomorrow.

Eid-ul-Fitr marks the culmination of the holy month of Ramadan, during which Muslims observe 29 to 30 days of fasting.

The announcement of moon sighting was made by Chairman Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee Mufti Muneeb ur Rehman in Karachi in the evening.

The evidence of moon sighting was received from Loralai district of Balochistan.

The meeting of central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee was held in Karachi under the chairmanship of Mufti Muneeb-ur-Rehman and the official announcement was made after testimonies were received from different parts of the country.

Besides the central committee, zonal committee meetings were also held in major cities of the country to collect testimonies regarding the sighting of Shawwal moon.

Khyber Paktunkhwa province has already celebrated Eid-ul-Fitr today after an independent Ruet-e-Hilal Committee headed by Mufti Shahabuddin Popalzai announced that it has collected evidence of moon sighting from difference parts of the region.

In the presser of the moon announcement Muti Muneeb ur Rehman criticized KPK government for individually announcing for the eid in the province.
