Ex-Governor Sindh Imran Ismail arrested in Karachi

Former Sindh governor and senior Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Imran Ismail has been arrested in Karachi on Friday as the crackdown against PTI continues over May 9 protests.
As reported, the PTI leader was taken into custody from Karachi’s Defence Phase 8 area.
The former Sindh governor is reported to have been arrested on the charges of terrorism from DHA Phase 8 and has now been shifted to Darakshan Police Station.
A number of senior PTI leaders including Shah Mahmood Qureshi, Asad Umar, Ali Mohammad Khan, Ali Zaidi, Omer Sarfaraz Cheema, Firdous Shamim Naqvi Shahryar Afridi, Mussarat Cheema, Shireen Mazari, Maleeka Bokhari, Senator Falaknaz Chitrali, Yasmeen Rashid, have been arrested after the protests erupted in response to Imran Khan’s arrest on May 9 while some of them went into hiding to evade arrest.
