Faiz Hameed, against ex-DG ISI, is under investigation, claims Rana Sanaullah!

Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah while addressing a press conference in Islamabad, following the imposition of Section 144 in Lahore ahead of Arat March and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) election rally said investigation agencies were conducting an inquiry regarding former Inter-Services Intelligence chief Lt Gen (retd) Faiz Hameed.

“Only the institution can do Faiz’s court martial,” Sanaullah said, adding that the General Headquarters (GHQ) holds the military trial, not the interior ministry.

He said that whatever was being done was required and PTI Chairman Imran Khan will be arrested when need be.

The statement from the federal minister comes after PML-N Senior Vice-President Maryam Nawaz Sharif called for a court-martial of former Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) DG Lt-Gen (retd) Faiz Hameed for conspiring to topple the PML-N government and backing Imran Khan’s government for four years.

Maryam Nawaz wants a court martial for former spymaster Faiz Hameed

In an exclusive interview with Wenews, Maryam Nawaz maintained that the former DG ISI should face consequences for his extra-constitutional actions to prevent anyone from repeating such misconduct in the future.

“I knocked on the court’s door against Gen Faiz Hameed when he was the head of the ISI. I submitted the entire evidence along with the petition in court. The major evidence (in the petition) was the former general’s visit to the house of Islamabad High Court’s former judge Shahukat Aziz Siddiqui, and asked him to punish Nawaz Sharif and Maryam Nawaz and not approve their bail,” Maryam Nawaz said.

She added that “Siddiqui said on camera that when he asked how come you (Gen Faiz) know that the father and the daughter duo will be sentenced, he (Gen Faiz) said they have worked for two years on that.“

Maryam Nawaz also slammed former Chief Justice Saqib Nisar, calling him the biggest criminal in the country’s history, accusing him of taking instructions from a colonel and a brigadier.
