Fake news in circulation! Federal & Provincial Govt. offices are not being closed
It is being clarified that there exits no official notification declaring federal and provincial govt. offices being closed till 16 of March, amid coronavirus fears.
A fake notification is being circulated on social media including WhatsApp, declaring that all federal and provincial offices will remain closed from March 4, 2020, till March 16, 2020, as a preventive measure against the coronavirus outbreak.
However, that’s not the case!
Earlier on Tuesday, the Sindh government wanted the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) to take action against people spreading disinformation about the novel coronavirus.
Advisor to the Sindh Chief Minister on Law, Murtaza Wahab taking to Twitter, requested the cybercrime wing of the FIA to take action against those spreading lies about the coronavirus infection.
“A lot of fake news has been circulating in the social media about the coronavirus, #SindhGovt is requesting Federal Govt to direct FIA Cyber Crime Cell to immediately take action against people who are creating this disinformation. We all need to act responsibly. Thank you,” he tweeted.

Wahab had earlier also refuted reports that schools in Sindh will remain closed till April 1, 2020.
“The rumour that schools in Sindh are going to be closed until 1st April is incorrect and false. I would request media to be careful circulating this news,” he tweeted.
