Fawad Chaudhry has been sent in two-day physical police remand!

The development comes on Wednesday night when the Islamabad district and sessions court granted police two-day physical remand of PTI leader Fawad Chaudhry who was taken into custody from Lahore earlier in the day.

As reported, the investigating officer had sought eight-day physical remand of the former minister, however, the request was rejected.

Duty Magistrate Naveed Khan announced the reserved verdict and adjourned the hearing till January 27 (Friday).

The court has directed the authorities to present the PTI leader on January 27.

Fawad Chadudry was taken to the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) by the police, where he underwent a medical checkup and was declared fit.

The PTI leader was arrested from his Lahore residence in the wee hours of Wednesday on charges of publicly “threatening” the members of the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) and their families in a media talk a day earlier.

The police shifted the ex-information minister to Islamabad after obtaining transitional remand from a court in Lahore.
