Fayaz Chohan removed as minister after derogatory remarks against Hindus
Fayaz-ul-Hasan Chohan has been removed as Punjab Information Minister following his remarks against Hindus, according to the sources.
The spokesperson for CM Punjab stated that Fayaz Chohan decided to tender his resignnation in meeting with CM Punjab Usman Buzdar.
Sources also claim that Prime Minister Imran Khan took notice of the derogatory remarks of Fayaz Chohan and asked Chief Minister Usman Buzdar to take action against the minister by today.
Sources further said Chohan was asked to resign and his resignation has been accepted by CM Punjab Usman Buzdar. Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar has earlier sought Fayyaz Chohan’s resignation over his remarks against Hindu community.
Sources further report that Syed Samsam Bukhari is most likely to succeed Chohan.
Taking notice of Chohan’s remarks, PM Imran Khan said, “There is no place for such derogatory remarks against minorities in Islam.”
The provincial information minister was summoned by the chief minister who sought an explanation from Chohan for his inflammatory remarks.
In wake of Fayyaz Chohan’s derogatory remarks, many of the prominent Pakistani celebrities came in forwarded condemning his stance and also demanded his removal from minister’s position.

The Punjab information minister also come under severe criticism from senior members of his party’s government.
