The Federal Cabinet on Tuesday has approved the procurement of the COVID-19 vaccine to protect lives on an urgent basis.
The approval was given at the meeting chaired by PM Imran Khan in Islamabad.
Furthermore, the federal cabinet has given approval to the exemption of COVID-19 vaccine purchases from Public Procurement Regulatory Authority (PPRA) rules.
In another decision, the cabinet members gave approval to the appointment of members of the Press Council of Pakistan.
The matters related to the review of the cabinet’s decision regarding the establishment in 1997 was deferred.
On the other hand, Russia has again offered Pakistan a supply of its Sputnik-V coronavirus vaccine.
As being reported, the Russian Direct Investment Fund’s (RDIF) head Kirill Dmitriev has written a letter to Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Health Dr. Faisal Sultan through the country’s embassy in Islamabad and has sought details regarding the process of vaccine’s registration in Pakistan.
