The federal cabinet has approved the sale price of Russian and Chinese corona vaccines being imported by the private sector.

The sale price of both the vaccines was approved by the federal cabinet through circulation.

According to sources, the federal cabinet has also approved setting the sale price of the Chinese vaccine Convadia along with the Russian vaccine.

The cabinet has fixed the selling price of two doses of Russian vaccine SputnikV at Rs 8,449, reportedly.

According to sources, the price of the Chinese vaccine has been fixed at Rs 4,225 per injection while the price of two doses has been fixed at Rs 8,500.

The first shipment of the privately-imported Russian coronavirus vaccine Sputnik V arrived in Karachi on March 18.

According to sources, The Drugs Regulatory Authority Pakistan DRAP had recommended fixing the Sale Price of COVID-19 Vaccines. Vaccines are being imported from Russia and China through the private sector.

Earlier in January, DRAP had allowed a local pharmaceutical firm, AGP, to import and distribute the Russian-developed Sputnik V.

The vaccine will be provided to large hospitals and institutions which can afford it, AGP said.

As being reported the Russian officials from now onwards will provide the shipments of its SputnikV vaccine to Pakistan at regular intervals and help the country fight the pandemic.

Russian officials had stated that the 50,000 doses can be used to vaccinate 25,000 adults.

Meanwhile, around 150,000 more doses of Sputnik V are expected to reach Pakistan by the end of this week.
