Federal govt announces 3 days Eid ul Adha holidays

First day of Eid ul Azha 2024 is to be celebrated on June 17 in Pakistan

The federal government on Tuesday announced three holidays for Eid ul Adha 2024.

The announcement was made after Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif approved a summary for the Eid holidays sent by the cabinet division.

The Eid ul Adha holidays will begin on Monday, June 17 and end on Wednesday, June 19.

The first day of Eid ul Adha 2024 is to be celebrated on June 17 in Pakistan.

 

Holidays are traditionally declared for the first two days of Hajj as well. However, this year it falls on Saturday and Sunday.

Eid ul Adha falls on the tenth day of Zil Hajj, which also marks the Hajj pilgrimage.

This year, the Zil Hajj moon was sighted in Saudi Arabia on Thursday, following which, the Day of Arafah will be on June 15.

Eid ul Adha will be celebrated in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on Monday 16th June 2024.
