Firdous Ashiq awan quits PTI accusing Imran Khan of directing plan to attack Pakistan army violently

Firdous Ashiq Awan is the latest leader to part ways with Pakistan Tehreek e Insaaf (PTI), but says that her political journey will continue!

While holding a press conference at the Islamabad Press Club on Friday, Awan claimed that she was on self-exile from the PTI over the last year over differences in her and Imran Khan’s narratives.

The former special assistant to the Punjab chief minister, Firdous Ashiq Awan said that she is parting ways with the PTI over the party’s “violent and terrorist activities”.

“I believe that the martyrs, their love and the country’s respect are a part of our faith. Those who disrespected martyrs attacked Pakistan’s foundation and ideology.

“Imran Khan and Pakistan can’t function together,” she added.

Awan said: “Imran Khan’s agenda is like poison for Pakistan and this agenda … I am a victim of this agenda too … he becomes an enemy to his friends first.”

Firdous Ashiq Awan also alleged that the PTI chief used people like “tissue papers” and then discarded them when “his work is done”.

“This is the reason why PTI has reached a dead end today,” she said.

Dr. Firdous Ashiq Awan also condemned the incidents of May 9 and claimed that the riots following Imran’s arrest were “planned at Zaman Park”.

“A conspiracy was prepared on foreign agenda and its aim was to disrespect Pakistan’s national institutions and please foreign masters,” she added.

Firdous Ashiq Awan said that her political journey will continue and vowed to keep working for the nation.
