Foreign National Caught at Multan Airport with 48 Cocaine Capsules Hidden in Stomach

The suspect has been charged under the Anti-Narcotics Act, with investigations ongoing to uncover further details about the smuggling network.

The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) at Multan Airport successfully thwarted an attempt to smuggle cocaine, arresting a foreign national who had ingested dozens of drug-filled capsules.

The suspect, an Angolan national, had arrived from Muscat and was found to have 48 cocaine capsules concealed in his stomach, according to a report by Express News.

An ANF spokesperson revealed that the total weight of the recovered capsules amounted to 624 grams. The arrest was part of a broader crackdown on drug smuggling operations across Pakistan. Recent data suggests a growing involvement of foreign nationals, particularly from African countries, in drug trafficking activities within the country.

The suspect has been charged under the Anti-Narcotics Act, with investigations ongoing to uncover further details about the smuggling network.

This incident mirrors a similar case last month, where ANF apprehended a Nigerian national at Lahore International Airport. The suspect, arriving from Nigeria via Dubai, had 38 cocaine-filled capsules in his stomach, weighing 608 grams.

In 2023, 10 Nigerian nationals were arrested in connection with drug smuggling, with a total of 4.811 kilograms of narcotics seized. So far this year, authorities have carried out seven operations, resulting in the arrest of eight Nigerian individuals and the recovery of 11.420 kilograms of drugs.
