Former PIA managing director, HR director arrested over for misusing authority

Former Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) managing director Ijaz Haroon and former PIA human resources director Hanif Pathan have been arrested by the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) over the allegations for their involvement in illegal appointments and misusing the power.

According to the details, the former PIA officials were arrested by the FIA Corporate Crime Circle for illegally appointing Salim Sayani as a deputy managing director in 2009, which has been considered as the mere violation of the airline’s regulations.

Earlier a year ago, Haroon was also arrested by NAB in the fake bank accounts case.

He had later resigned from the post of MD of PIA in 2011 after the airline’s employees protested against his appointment.
