Reports suggest he was detained outside his residence, but the charges remain unclear
Former PTI leader Fawad Chaudhry was arrested in Islamabad on Saturday afternoon.
Former federal minister Fawad Chaudhry’s wife Hiba confirmed the development saying that her husband was arrested by police and men in plainclothes.
“We have not been told why Fawad is being arrested,” she said while speaking with Geo News.
Hiba Fawad in a post on X-platform wrote, “Fawad Arrested and taken to an unknown place.”

The reason for Fawad Chaudhry’s arrest today remains unclear.
The political leader had been keeping a low profile ever since his release from Adiala jail on 1 February 2023 after he was granted bail in a sedition case.
