KARACHI: A pipeline leak from Pakistan Refinery Limited (PRL) caused furnace oil to spill onto Seaview Road and nearby areas early Tuesday morning, disrupting traffic and affecting local residents.

The incident occurred around 6:00 AM local time, according to SSP South.

The leaked oil spread onto the service road and entered several nearby residential buildings, prompting an immediate response from PRL staff and Defence Housing Authority (DHA) personnel.

PRL Managing Director Zahid Mir stated that a repair team was dispatched promptly, and an investigation into the cause was underway.

The leak was successfully repaired within hours, and the situation was brought under control.

The service road has since been reopened to traffic.
