Gold prices in Pakistan continue to edge up for the third consecutive session

Gold prices in Pakistan continued to edge up for the third consecutive session on Thursday.

Despite a decrease in the international bullion market, yellow metal prices tend to get a big hike in the local markets.

As per the data released by the All-Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association (APSGJA), the price of gold (24 carats) increased by Rs1,200 per tola and Rs1,029 per 10 grams to settle at Rs225,000 and Rs192,901, respectively.

Meanwhile, the price of gold fell by $5 to settle at $1,900 per ounce in the international market today.

The price of yellow metal has been volatile in Pakistan in recent months amid continued political and economic uncertainty, and high inflation.

On Wednesday, the price of 24-karat gold increased by Rs900 per tola in the Pakistani market.

After this increase in prices, the 24-karat gold was traded at Rs2,23,800 per tola while the price of 10 grams of 24-karat pure gold increased by Rs771 and traded at Rs1,91,872 per 10 grams.

While the 22-karat gold which is usually used for jewellery making, was sold at the rate of Rs1,75,883 per 10 grams.
