‘Gossip Girl’ to get a reboot on HBO Max
HBO Max subscribers are going to witness a new version of Gossip Girl introducing a luxurious and scandal driven world of New York. This subscription service is slated for beta launch in the coming Fall. Although the reboot announcement does not include a release date but it has announced some details about the series.
Gossip Girl reboot with a release date yet to be decided, announced Joshua Safran as its writer and its executive producer. Other executive producers include Josh Schwartz, Stephanie Savage, Leslie Morgenstein and Gina Girolamo.
The plot will take place after eight years of the original series and it will follow a new generation of New York, the reboot noted that it will tackle the issues with the advent of social media and how the New York landscapes have changed in the intervening years.
This series is created by Fake Empire and Alloy Entertainment in association with Warner Bros. It will include 10 episodes, with each episode being 1 hour long. The original ” Gossip Girl” series aired 6 seasons from 2007 to 2012 portraying the lives of privileged teens living in Manhattan.
