The government has decided not to promote anyone without examination this year!

A meeting of inter-provincial education ministers was held under the chair of Education Minister Shafqat Mahmood. The meeting reviewed the latest COVID-19 situation in the country.

The Inter-Provincial Education Ministers Conference (IPEMC) included all education ministers, including the Azad Kashmir and Gilgit Baltistan ministers, who are members of the IPEMC, responsible for formulating policies related to the education sector.

The decision was taken in the meeting that examinations of all classes would be held in any case.

The government has decided to conduct examinations in all cases under SOPs.

It was also decided in the meeting that first there will be 10th and 12th class examinations, these examinations will be held in the third week of June.

However, provinces would finalize the dates of the exams while summer vacations will also be reduced.

According to the decision, in case of delay in results, universities will give admissions on the basis of Provisional Certificate.

Furthermore, the Federal Education Ministry, after consultations with the National Command and Operation Center (NCOC), had announced that the teachers will be vaccinated for coronavirus on priority to bring an end to the disruption in the education sector and reduce learning losses.

The National Education Assessment Framework was also shared with the provinces during the meeting, after which the ministers gave their approval for it.

The federal government has allowed educational institutes to resume in-person learning from May 24 (today) in districts where the COVID-19 positivity ratio is less than 5%.
