The government of Punjab announces to take action against Dawn News for attributing a fake incident with CM Punjab Usman Buzdar.
The govt. announced its course of action on social media in a series of tweets from its official Twitter handle.
As per Dawn’s report, a few days ago Punjab CM Usman Buzdar received a detailed briefing on coronavirus from relevant experts and officials. At the end of the briefing, the CM asked those briefing him: “Yeh corona kaat-ta kaisay hai? (how does this corona bite)?”
“It is sad and unfortunate that in these testing times some people find the opportunity to publish their imagination as news. A statement attributed to CM Punjab in @dawn_com’s article is absolutely rubbish, baseless & fake.
GOP is starting legal action against writer & publisher for their irresponsible and unprofessional behavior and we also urge #APNS and regulatory bodies to take strict action, as we cannot allow anyone to create panic and push their ulterior agendas in these testing times”, says the official statement.
