Govt slash petrol price by Rs8.47 per litre on the eve of Independence Day

This price reduction is a welcome relief for the public, who have been struggling with the high cost of fuel.

The federal government has reduced the petrol price by Rs8.47 per litre on the eve of Independence Day, for the next fortnight.

Meanwhile, the price of high-speed diesel (HSD) from Rs272.77 per litre to Rs266.07 with a cut of Rs6.7.

With the latest reduction, the petrol price has been cut from Rs269.43 to Rs260.96 per litre.

The prices of petrol and diesel in the country have been slashed mainly due to a drop in fuel prices in the global market.

This price reduction is a welcome relief for the public, who have been struggling with the high cost of fuel.

The government’s choice to lower prices likely reflects both the fluctuations in the global oil market and the economic challenges facing the country.
