Govt to Cancel Passports and Register Cases Against Deported Pakistanis
Additionally, these deportees will be placed on the Passport Control List for five years

The Government of Pakistan has announced a strict new policy targeting Pakistanis deported from foreign countries.
According to Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, the passports of deported individuals will be cancelled upon their return to Pakistan, and First Information Reports (FIRs) will be registered against them.
Additionally, these deportees will be placed on the Passport Control List for five years, barring them from obtaining new passports or legally travelling abroad during this period.
This decision was made during a high-level meeting chaired by the Interior Minister in Islamabad, which also resulted in the formation of a committee led by the Interior Secretary to review and tighten passport issuance regulations to prevent misuse and improve the integrity of Pakistan’s travel documentation system.
The move comes in response to concerns over Pakistanis involved in illegal activities abroad, including a large number of beggars deported from Saudi Arabia and other countries, which has caused embarrassment to Pakistan internationally.
The government has adopted a zero-tolerance stance, emphasizing that no concessions will be made to deportees in the future.
These steps aim to curb repeated offences, human trafficking, and illegal migration while safeguarding Pakistan’s international reputation.
