Hassaan Niazi handed over to Quetta police on one-day transit remand

Hassaan Niazi has been handed over to Quetta police on one-day transit remand on Friday.
Magistrate Murid Abbas handed over Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan’s focal person of legal affairs and nephew Hassaan Niazi to the Quetta police on a one-day transit remand.
Quetta Police took Imran Khan’s focal person from Islamabad court to Quetta after getting permission from the court.
The investigation officer will produce Hassaan Niazi in the relevant court on March 25.
The development comes as the Quetta Airport police registered a case against him on March 18.
The FIR lodged at Quetta airport booked PTI workers for rioting and wrongful restraint (of traffic) on 18.03.2023 as a protest against the possible arrest of PTI chairman Imran Khan.
A day earlier, an Islamabad district and sessions court rejected the police’s request for an extension in the physical remand of Hassaan Niazi.
The court directed the police to take Hassaan Niazi to jail on judicial remand days after he was arrested on charges of “misbehaving with the police”.
Hassaan Niazi was produced before the court of Duty Magistrate Murid Abbas on the completion of a two-day physical remand granted by a court on Tuesday, following his arrest outside an anti-terrorism court (ATC) in Islamabad.
