Here is why #worldwar3 trending top on social media today

Iranian general, Qassem Soleimani, has been killed in a US airstrike, the Pentagon confirmed. Reacting to the situation Iran has said since that the US should expect a “harsh retaliation” and this resulted in #WWIII and #WorldWar3 to trend worldwide.
Top Iranian commander Qassem Soleimani was killed Friday in a US strike on Baghdad´s international airport. Confirmed Iran and the US, and this led to the most dramatic episode yet of escalating tensions between the two countries.
The strike also killed Abu Mahdi Al-Muhandis, deputy commander of Iran-backed militias in Iraq known as the Popular Mobilization Forces, and five others, including the PMF’s airport protocol officer, Mohammed Reda, Iraqi officials said.
Iranian State TV channel Iran Press has broadcasted images showing burnt cars purportedly at the site of a US strike which killed Revolutionary Guards commander Qasem Soleimani in Baghdad.
According to the Pentagon Soleimani had been “actively developing plans to attack American diplomats and service members in Iraq and throughout the region.”
Further added that it took “decisive defensive action to protect US personnel abroad by killing Qasem Soleimani,” without specifying how.
An adviser to Iran’s President Hassan Rouhani responding to this latest development has warned US President Donald Trump of retaliation from Tehran.
“Trump through his gamble has dragged the US into the most dangerous situation in the region,” Hessameddin Ashena wrote on the social media app Telegram. “Whoever put his foot beyond the red line should be ready to face its consequences”, he added.
The world is keeping a close watch at the events unfolding after the US action and the response Irani officials have given to the US. This has led to an open debate on social media as well in the US over Donald Trump’s decision.
Democratic Connecticut Sen. Richard Blumenthal said Trump owes a full explanation to Congress and the American people. “The present authorizations for use of military force in no way cover starting a possible new war. This step could bring the most consequential military confrontation in decades,” Blumenthal said.
However, Trump’s allies were quick to praise the action. “To the Iranian government: if you want more, you will get more,” tweeted South Carolina Sen. Lindsey Graham.
To the Iranian government: If you want to stay in the oil business leave America and our allies alone and stop being the largest state sponsor of terrorism in the world.

It's one of these days again in the Middle East.
You wake up.
You read the news.
And you are terrified of what is to come.#Soleimani

Trump's assassination of #Soleimani, the 2nd most powerful person in #Iran (without the approval of Congress) could very well precipitate war & destabilize the entire region. He has also incited US-directed terrorism for decades to come. Trump is mentally unfit to be President.
