At least 18 injured as IDE blast at a railway track derails Jaffar Express in Bolan

The Jaffer Express train was travelling from Machh to Sibi, when the blast occurred, local authorities said.

IDE blast at a railway track derails Jaffar Express in Balochistan’s Bolan area leaving at least 18 people injured.

The blast resulted in forcing the train’s engine and seven carriages off-track.

The passenger train had left Machh and was headed toward Rawalpindi.

According to DC Kachhi the incident occurred inside the mountains area and the rescue teams are facing difficulties.

The Jaffer Express train was travelling from Machh to Sibi, when the blast occurred, local authorities said.

As reported, a relief train was dispatched from Sibi to rescue passengers of the train and bring them to Sibi safely.

Passengers on the Jaffer Express coming from Peshawar to Machh were stopped at Sibi and are now being brought to Quetta via buses.

An emergency has been imposed in Sibi and Machh govt hospitals.

According to Railway authorities, the injured had been shifted to Combined Military Hospital (CMH), Sibi.

CM Balochistan has directed the authorities concerned to take concrete steps for the treatment of the injured passengers.

 

As reportedm BLA, Balosh Libration Army’s Azad Group has claimed responsibilty of the attack.
