Imran Khan asks PTI supporters to remain peaceful!

The statement from the Pakistan Tehreek e Insaaf Chairman Imran Khan comes as he appeared before the Supreme Court on Thursday.

After the CJP passed the order to release Imran Khan, while still in the court, he said that no harm should be brought to the country and asked his supporters to remain peaceful.

“We only want elections in the country,” PTI Chief maintained.

Imran Khan stated that he was told by his lawyers a day earlier that “there was anarchy in the country”.

He further added that people approached the court for justice, but contended that he was instead struck in the head.

“Even murderers are not treated this way,” he said.

Imran Khan went on to say that he was unaware of what was happening in the country.

“I was caught as if I am a terrorist,” he said and asked, “How am I responsible for the protests?”

At least 8 people were killed across the country while as many as 290 were injured, and over 1,900 enraged PTI protesters were arrested in clashes with police since May 9.

The violent protests erupted across the country provoked by the PTI chairman Imran Khan’s arrest.

The PTI protesters stormed the residence of the corps commander in Lahore and tore down a gate of GHQ in Rawalpindi.

Furthermore, Radio Pakistan’s building in Peshawar, and Scouts Fort in Chakkdara, Lower Dir, were set on fire by the violent PTI supporters.
