PM Imran Khan has finally spoken to CM Sindh, inquires about Karachi’s situation

The Prime Minister has spoken to the Chief Minister of Sindh on Thursday evening, inquiring about the situation of Karachi after havoc monsoon rains. 

Asad Umar serving as Pakistan’s Minister for Planning, Development & Special Initiatives shared on social media that PM Imran Khan has assured CM Sindh of whatever help the Sindh government needs from the federation and its agencies to provide relief to the people from the devastation of the rains.

Any help requested will be provided on an emergency basis, PM has said. 

 

Earlier in a series of Tweets PM Imran Khan said that the government is fully aware of peoples’ suffering, will not abandon them in times of crisis.

“My govt is fully cognizant of the suffering of our people in the wake of the heavy rains, especially the people of Karachi. I am personally monitoring the relief & rescue operations & am in constant contact with Chairman NDMA & Governor Sindh for regular updates”, PM said in a tweet.

“Have directed Chairman NDMA to immediately not only rescue stranded people but also provide emergency medical assistance, food & shelter to all those in need. I have also asked the NDMA Chairman to ensure the restoration of utilities on an emergency basis”, PM said in a thread of messages on Twitter.

“We will be announcing a plan for a permanent solution to the problems caused by floods by cleaning of nullahs, fixing the sewage system, and resolving the huge challenge of water supply to the ppl of Karachi. We will not abandon the people of Karachi in their time of crisis”, he further added.
