Lahore High Court (LHC) has stopped law enforcers from continuing the operation at Zaman Park to arrest Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan till Thursday morning (Tomorrow).
Earlier in the day, contingents of police that were closing in on Imran Khan’s residence in Zaman Park to arrest him for the last two days pulled back from the surrounding.
“Police will not advance on Khan’s residence until the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL) 8 cricket match is over,” sources quoted officials as saying.
Shortly after that, the Islamabad High Court reserved its verdict on a PTI plea seeking the cancellation of the arrest warrant against Imran Khan in the Toshakhana case.
On the other hand, jubilant scenes from outside Zaman Park emerged on social media.
Apparently, the PTI supporters celebrated the retreat of police contingents from Zaman Park, claiming it their victory.
Soon after the withdrawal of the police, PTI chief Imran Khan emerged from his residence, wearing a gas mask, and met his workers.
The video clip was shared on PTI’s Twitter account showing Imran Khan talking to his supporters.
PTI claimed that their leader came out despite severe shelling, and met the workers at Zaman Park.
PTI Chairman was not seen anywhere since the arrest operation started at Zaman Park.
However, he had been appearing virtually making claims that his house has been under heavy attack.
