Curtains to a daylong high-stake political drama! Imran Khan’s warrants in Toshakhana case suspended, hearing adjourned till March 30

PTI chief Imran Khan departed from the judicial complex for Lahore.

Curtains to a daylong high-stake political drama!

The Islamabad sessions court on Saturday evening suspended Imran Khan’s warrants in the Toshakhana Case and adjourned the hearing till 30th March.

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief and former premier reached the federal capital along with a convoy to attend the hearing of the Toshakhana case at the judicial complex.

For the first time in the history of Pakistan, the court allowed a person to record their attendance while being seated in the car at the court’s main gate. The move was allowed as Imran Khan could not get out of this vehicle amid all the workers protesting outside the court’s premises.

Additional Sessions Judge Zafar Iqbal decided to mark Imran Khan’s attendance at the gate of the judicial complex and allowed him to return.

The judge also instructed the court staff in this regard.

However, a staff member told the court that they were not allowed to get Imran Khan’s attendance signatures.

It was later reported that PTI leader Shibli Faraz and the court staff accompanying him were stopped on the way.

Additional Sessions Judge Zafar Iqbal told the parties in the case that arguments will take place during the next hearing and also ordered Imran Khan to ensure his presence.

In line with PTI’s insistence that Khan’s life is in danger and he needs security, Islamabad Chief Commissioner Noorul Amin Mengal shifted the hearing from F-8 Court Complex to the Judicial Complex in G-11 as a “one-time dispensation”.

On the other hand, PTI Vice Chairman Shah Mahmood Qureshi while talking to Ary News from the Islamabad High Court told that “all legal process [for the signature] has been completed” and said that Imran was departing from the Judicial Complex.

He also strongly criticised the Punjab and Islamabad police forces for their actions against the PTI.

A large number of PTI workers, who were accompanying the party chairman, were attempting to escort him onto court premises, but due to security arrangements, they were not allowed to enter.

This resulted in angered PTI workers creating a ruckus outside the court’s premises.

As reported, PTI workers also set fire to 10 police motorcycles outside the judicial complex and overturned a police officer’s car.
