Imran Riaz barred from boarding Hajj flight at Islamabad Airport

The IHC had granted permission to the journalist to travel abroad.

Imran Riaz, the journalist turned YouTuber, was reportedly barred from boarding Hajj flight at Islamabad Airport on Monday.

The development comes as his name was put on the no-fly list at the federal cabinet’s suggestion.

As reported Imran Riaz will now take the matter to the court yet again.

It was last week when Islamabad High Court (IHC) Chief Justice Aamer Farooq allowed Imran to travel to Saudi Arabia to perform Hajj.

During the hearing of the case, the judge was told that Imran’s name was placed on the Exit Control List (ECL) on the recommendation of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA).

Following the arguments, the court granted permission to the journalist to travel abroad.

Imran Riaz had moved the Lahore High Court (LHC) last year seeking the removal of his name from the Exit Control List (ECL) and Passport Control List (PCL) saying his name was added arbitrarily and haphazardly “relying upon presumptive considerations”.
