India thump England by 68 runs to reach T20 World Cup final

India will now face South Africa in the final of the T20 World Cup on Saturday, June 29 in Barbados.

England’s title defence finally ended after India handed them a 68-run thumping defeat in the second semi-final of the T20 World Cup.

It was another one-sided match after South Africa outclassed Afghanistan earlier in the day, qualifying for the final.

The final of the ICC T20 World Cup is going to be the clash of the tournament’s two unbeaten sides when India takes on South Africa in Bridgetown on Saturday.

India posted a 171-7 total while put to bat first. Skipper Rohit Sharma (57) and Suryakumar Yadav (47) scored the bulk of the runs on a slow track at the Providence Stadium in Guyana.

India managed 46 runs from the six power-play overs, however it cost them the wickets of Virat Kohli and Rishabh Pant.

India returned to bundle out England for 103 inside 17 overs with their spin duo of Axar Patel and Kuldeep Yadav wreaking havoc with the turning ball.
