India wants ‘Mission: Impossible-Fallout’ to remove or rectify the Kashmir references in the film

Mission: Impossible-Fallout has turned out to be Tom Cruise’s personal best, as the film opened with 61.5 million dollars. This makes his second biggest opening weekend ever, and people around the world are keen to watch the film in their nearest theaters.

For those who have watched it already know there is a location in the film showing the Indian occupied Kashmir and the India is not happy about it.

The chairman of the Indian Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), Prasoon Joshi has demanded the film makers to remove or rectify the Kashmiri reference in the film.

As reported by an Indian daily the CBFC has demanded to cut the title before the climax that identified the place Indian occupied Kashmir and a map of the Indian subcontinent, according to them it has misrepresented the boundaries of the state of Jammu and Kashmir.

Though that particular scene was never shot in its original location but it was initially planned to be shot in India but the Kashmir scenes were instead shot in New Zealand and depicted as Kashmir.

The 6th installment of the Mission Impossible series starring Tom Cruise as Ethan Hunt, directed by Christopher McQuarrie, is reported to have four cuts/modifications made by the CBFC and was released in India on July 27. The film made its debut to a $153.5 million weekend at the worldwide box-office.
