Indonesian plane reportedly missing after disappearing from radar

Indonesian plane is reported to be missing after disappearing from radar in Jakarta. The plane is believed to be carrying more than 55 passengers onboard.

According to the emerging details, authorities lost contact with a Boeing 737 flight over Indonesia.

The Sriwijaya Air Boeing 737-500 reportedly dropped 10,000ft in 60 seconds before disappearing from radar according to data from Flight tracking apps.

Flight SJY192 was flying from Jakarta to Pontianak City. The aircraft’s last contact was reportedly made at 2:40 pm local time. 

A spokeswoman for Indonesia’s transport ministry has confirmed that search and rescue operations had been launched for the missing plane.
